January 2015-We are closed for the next few months but can be available by appointment if you are looking for something that David can get access to. He still has some winter squash and has some greens he is growing in the greenhouses. He has been up feeding the wood stove again this winter keeping the greens and some tomato plants growing and warm.
This will make the our seventh year here at Linda's Mercantile. David & Linda Lay operate the farm and grow lots of fresh produce and fruits. Since this is a working farm, they limit their hours of operation in order to keep up with the prep work on the ground and the planting. The market has five greenhouses that they use to get a jump start on their tomatoes and they use them for growing greens. They also carry a small quantity of vegetable plants and herbs. For 2015. we will again offer our CSA Market Share. It was a huge success with our customers and they were excitied to be able to use their money how and when they wanted. We will again offer a small variety of vegetable plants, vegetables, fruits, jams and jellies, meats from Crabills and hope to again offer milk, butter and maybe cheeses. We may have a small quantity of flowers. For any they do not carry, they will direct you to the best place to get them.
The store is located just a short drive from the city limits of Winchester on Route 522 North.
